Aunt Mary L. Davis: Originator of Ingenue
At Ingenue Preparatory Christian Academy, we honor the remarkable legacy of our founder, the late Aunt Mary L. Davis. Aunt Mary embarked on her journey in the 1980s by setting up Ingenue, a self-motivating group dedicated to nurturing her teenage nieces through college readiness and daily self-care. Her vision extended beyond the family, fostering community involvement by encouraging participation in community service and other charitable acts.
In the late 1980s, her passion for care and education led her to establish her own home daycare. This venture became a testament to her dedication as a caretaker and educator, nurturing the young minds of our next generation. A proud alumna of The Florida A&M University, she graduated in 1974 with a BA in Accounting, and then served in the US Army from 1975 to 1978 as an accountant, stationed in Germany and Holland. Her experiences and dedication ignited a lifelong passion for education in me, her niece Stefani Curington.
Inspired by Aunt Mary's legacy, I am devoted to continuing her mission through the inauguration of Ingenue Preparatory Christian Academy. Our school is founded on the principles she cherished; we ensure that every child is heard, cherished, and encouraged to reach their fullest potential. Through education, we aspire to transform lives and uphold the enduring legacy of care and community service that Aunt Mary exemplified.
